Utilitarianism in the Arts
i'm curious if you could kind of define the way you're using that and just, um, how how this describes what's going on in these places. It is a term that i've elected on as a, as a undy shorthand for everyone i who i think is ruining everything in the arts. I don't think it makes sense to apply my expectations for an art work to those that a person in the fifteenth century had or those that people in the classical world had. They're not the first to ever approach the arts in this way. For much of the history of art, value has been valued on the basis of moral or religious or political utility.
