The Consequences of Hyper Hydration

In 2006, a study on Ironman triathletes was published by Australian scientists. They found that fluid losses of 3% of body weight didn't actually result in a significant rise in core temperature or drop in performance in any way. So we've either got a situation where we over drink or under drink. If you drink too little fluid during exercise, you risk becoming hypohydrated. And if you drink too much, you obviously can become hyper hydrated. Both of these outcomes are undesirable though as they can when they become severe in peer performance and even life threatening.
