With this type of an issue, is you have some pressure, an impact in that area, along those muscles, along the shin, shin bone, that exceeds what it's ready for. As you firm up the ground you're landing on, or the footwear you're wearing, you're allso likely going to increase the load that your lower legs take on. The other way is just to kind of li work on strengthening and lengthening the area, is the way i like to think about this. So if it's strong and can move smoothly through the range of motion you're asking it to with running, than it's less likely to get to that point where you're overloading it
