The Iron Mad Wilkinson

John Iron Mad Wilkinson was a key figure in the 18th century iron industry. His father had also been an iron maker, and he married into another wealthy family. John went into business with his father, making cannons and cannon balls for the British government. He came up with a new mechanism to bore out the barrels of an iron cannon from a solid mold.
