NOTE

The Role of Fighting and Organization in Human Freedom

Humanity's ability to fight and resolve conflicts in a unique way has contributed to the freedom we enjoy. Strength does not solely rely on body weight, as smaller individuals can be more agile and maneuverable. The logistical demands of modern armies give insurgent groups an advantage. Smaller groups have historically been able to overthrow larger ones. Human freedom is also due to our ability to think, plan, and debate about the organization of society. Democracy seeks to balance power and prevent the abuse of power. The Iroquois Great Law of Peace influenced the US Constitution, promoting the idea of a warrior culture under civilian control.
