Antidepressants in the elderly, though not as alarming as benzos, pose risks such as postural sway, falls, fractures, syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion (S-I-A-D-H), increased bleeding risk, constipation, modest blood pressure increase, and osteoporosis post age 50 with known biological mechanism.
