The Islamic world is seen as marginally better than Christendom historically, especially regarding the issue of Israel and Jewish power. The existence of Israel and power held by Jews over Muslims is viewed as an insult that needs addressing. While the West is largely indifferent to Jews exercising power in the Middle East, it is deeply concerned about Palestinians. This disparity in perspectives makes it challenging for Westerners, including Jews, to comprehend the behavior of former allies in the face of conflicting loyalties.
