NOTE

The Relationship Between Invasiveness and Placebo Effect

The level of invasiveness of a placebo intervention is directly proportional to the placebo effect. Capsules have a larger effect than tablets, an injection has a greater effect than consumption of a capsule, and placement into a medical device with no biological impact has the greatest placebo effect. The complexity or invasiveness of the treatment is associated with bigger outcomes, as the human brain equates this complexity with significant results, despite no direct biological impact on the subjects.
