NOTE

America as a Class Society and the Disconnect from the Working Class

Social class is often overlooked in America, with many focusing on race instead. Progressives argue over the importance of race versus class, but the debate is dominated by upper and middle-class individuals who are disconnected from the working class. These individuals project their own experiences and assumptions onto the working class, creating a distorted perception of their needs and wants. Even passionate Bernie supporters can display this disconnect, as seen in an example where a lawyer described a highly educated individual forced into sex work as a representation of the working class, highlighting the lack of understanding of the true working class demographics and experiences.
