London has weathered the challenges of Brexit with surprising resilience. Despite some job losses, it remains a massive global financial hub, and the shortfall of EU workers has been compensated by immigrants from other parts of the world. Brexit, intended to reduce immigration, ironically led to more immigration to Britain from places like India and Nigeria. Londoners are positive about immigration and believe it has had a beneficial impact on their hometown. Additionally, London has bounced back well from the impact of Covid, surpassing expectations.
From Brexit to covid-19, nothing has yet stymied London’s successes. The city has its problems, but it remains a paragon of policymaking.
