Accumulation of Acetyl CoA in Biosynthetic Reaction: Implications for Citric Acid Cycle

In a biosynthetic reaction, when an intermediate is missing oxylacetate, acetyl coa accumulates. This accumulation inhibits pyruvate dehydrogenase and stimulates pyruvate carboxylase. As a result, pyruvate is converted to oxylacetate instead of acetyl coa.
