Rethinking Education

NOTE

Teaching Vocabulary

The pressure of the qualification regime and the accountability state for that mean that pedagogy distort the curriculum. So, for example, speaking and listening is less addressed than reading and writing because they are tested. And yet most people would argue with the children with fluency who tend to do better in school. We've got to be much clearer about what it is we want our children to learn back to the purposes. Stop Secretary of State constantly meddling with the curriculum and then make a curriculum that's fit for purpose.
