The concept of priesthood is about empowering others with the power with God and the power to do His will, rather than holding power over them. This approach contrasts hierarchical structures, where the focus is on power hoarding. In the exercise of priesthood, the emphasis is on power to and power with, as outlined in the Doctrine and Covenants. The leaders in this context, such as prophets and apostles, aim to serve and empower others, promoting a model that is inverted from traditional hierarchical structures.
