Our brains are constantly trying to make sense of the world around us, even to the point of creating meaning from random noise. This is true for both visual and auditory stimuli. For example, we may mistake a strange sound for a person shouting or someone calling our name. Similarly, when shown ambiguous images like Rorschach inkblots, our brains instinctively try to find patterns and interpret them as recognizable objects or shapes. This tendency to impose order on chaos is a regular occurrence in our daily lives.
