The Two Testaments

NOTE

Significance of the Second Death in Revelation

In Revelation, the concept of the second death is distinct from the first death which signifies natural physical death. The first death is part of the order of creation, but it does not separate individuals from God's kingdom if they are reconciled to God through Christ. The second death, however, is depicted by John as being cast into the lake of fire, symbolic of not entering the life of the new Jerusalem and rejecting forgiveness.
