Consolidation and Continuation of Leadership

The pre-existing population of Medina, including the Monafirun and the Israelites, were looking to establish a unified leadership structure due to the inefficiency of decision-making in their diverse tribes. The Osan Khazraj united to have a central government under Abdullah Abi, aiming to solidify the goals of the community before the arrival of Islam. On the other hand, the Banu Isra'i had a tradition of receiving a prophet in every generation, creating a continuous succession of prophethood until the arrival of Jesus as the last Israelite prophet.
