The Early Public Housing
Early public housing was built to last in a way that was not true of projects constructed in the 50s and 60s. Even with cost controls intended politically by the opponents of public housing to make housing unattractive and unappealing even still it lasted 80 years. The incomes that are eligible for public housing were also controlled so they could never compete with private rental market.
