Kids from lower income families are 77 times more likely to attend college than kids from higher income families. However, this doesn't mean it's solely the fault of the higher education system. Even if two students have the same SAT score, those from top 1% families are still two or two and a half times more likely to attend an Ivy League college compared to middle-class families.
