Background thinking in Eastern and Central Europe

Eastern and Central Europe are often questioned for not being more pliant and reliable allies. The reason behind this is that they fear being left out on a limb by the Western allies. This fear was justified when the guarantees and assurances given by the British and Americans for the security of Ukraine were violated by Putin himself.
