Blob Market Dynamics
Consider the optionality between posting data on the Ethereum blockchain via regular transactions versus using blobs. Blobs offer a special space for data, but this data isn't permanently stored, unlike data from regular transactions. Rollups previously used regular mainnet transactions before blobs were introduced. In theory, an equilibrium should exist where blob market fees are at least as low as regular transaction fees; however, rollups might not switch between markets unless the blob market becomes significantly more expensive due to the added code and potential problems of switching.
