Me Too Movement's Impact on Collaborations Between Men and Women

The Me Too movement aimed to increase protection for women from sexual harassment, potentially making women more comfortable to work with men. However, there is concern among men about sexual harassment accusations post-Me Too. Research on junior female academics showed that after the Me Too movement, they started fewer new projects, mainly due to decreased collaborations with male co-authors. Before Me Too, junior women initiated 1.6 projects annually, decreasing to 0.9 post-Me Too, marking a 44% decline, with 60% of the reduction attributed to decreased collaborations with male colleagues.
