Heavenly Court, Earthly Hierarchy

God is portrayed as a king surrounded by a structured heavenly court comprising various ranks of courtiers. The highest rank, just below God, includes the sons of God, also referred to as Sarim or princes. Guardians of God's throne, such as seraphim and cherubim, maintain the sanctity of His presence. The court includes specialized roles like the satan, whose function is to accuse wrongdoing, and leads to his eventual exclusion from this divine assembly. Additionally, the commander of the Lord's army signifies the military aspect of divine rule. At the lower tier of this hierarchy are messengers who frequently interact with humans by delivering God's messages.
