Map vs the Territory, representation vs. presentation
There are two kinds of world: one seen by the left hemisphere and one seen by the right hemisphere. The left hemisphere sees familiar, fixed, and isolated details that are general and inanimate, while the right hemisphere sees fresh, interconnected, and changing details that are unique and embodied. One important difference is that the right hemisphere is alive to what is present, while the left hemisphere sees a representation or abstraction of what is being mapped.
