The Alternative to Soldier Mind Set
The scout and the soldier are my metaphors for two very different kinds of motivations that can be guiding your thinking in the background. The official term for what i call soldier mind said in the cogof science literature, is directionally motive reasoning. So it's reasoning that is unconsciously, we're trying to reason to defend a particular predetermined conclusion. I call it soldier minds that because it's very much like being a so on a battlefield,. Trying to defend the fortress of your beliefs against any evidence that could threaten to weaken or undermine it.
