The presence of psychopathy in certain individuals may confer a reproductive fitness advantage in specific contexts throughout history. Not everyone with such disorders ends up powerless; many of them rise to positions of power, wealth, and success. These individuals often go undetected due to their ability to manipulate and evade recognition. Sociopaths who are detected and deemed unsuccessful are not representative of all individuals with these traits, as many sociopaths who succeed avoid detection and manipulation by presenting themselves differently.
