Gut transit time is a key measure of digestive health, with blue dye used for accuracy in assessment. A gut transit time of less than 14 hours is very fast, while more than 58 hours is considered very slow. The average person shows transit times of around 24-48 hours after consuming muffins, considered normal. These transit time groups show differences in gut microbiome and diversity, with high fiber consumers typically falling in the normal range and low fiber consumers showing variations.
