NOTE

Is Your Purpose to Just Be Comfortable?

Living honestly means accepting that you are both a subject and an object simultaneously. Denying any side of this duality denies a fundamental part of your existence. You possess subjectivity and the ability to make free acting choices. Denying your subjectivity is denying part of your existence. External forces such as the government, companies, parents, drugs, video games, and advertising try to take away your subjectivity, offering products to make your life easier and remove the tension of feeling the need to do more. Comfort should not be the main goal. Marcus Aurelius questioned the purpose of just being comfortable and not experiencing life fully. Overcoming self-imposed obstacles and cultural pressures is necessary. However, over-indexing on subjectivity can also be an escape from reality. Balancing both subjectivity and objectivity is crucial.
