"Electric cars are great and will take over a significant part of our driving. However, they are not as effective for the climate as they are often portrayed. The production of electric car batteries is polluting and emits a lot of CO2. Additionally, most electric cars in the US are used as second cars and driven less than half as much as regular cars."
