The key lies in finding the right balance; excessive physical activity or cognitive overload can overwhelm the body and hinder recovery, whereas insufficient stimulation fails to drive beneficial adaptations. Historically, the human body has evolved to handle certain stressors effectively, while modern toxins pose challenges due to our lack of evolutionary adaptation. Engaging in hormetic stressors just beyond our current limits generates transient stress that triggers long-term health benefits, leading to improved strength and resilience against future stressors.
