#478 A New Model for Solving Anxiety with Dr Russell Kennedy (Re-release)

Feel Better, Live More with Dr Rangan Chatterjee

NOTE

Natural opioids of running don’t heal the psychology

Engaging in activities like running can trigger the release of natural opioids in the brain, providing temporary relief from psychological symptoms such as anxiety and depression. However, this relief does not address the root causes of those issues, much like the use of antidepressants that numb symptoms without tackling underlying problems. Many people experience a shift from one form of addiction, such as substance abuse, to another, like exercise, under the belief that the latter is healthier. This shift does not resolve the fundamental emotional pain or trauma, often rooted in childhood experiences, which continues to influence their behavior. While movement can be beneficial and help alter perceptions temporarily, it may also serve as a distraction from confronting deeper psychological wounds. True healing requires acknowledging and addressing these underlying pains rather than simply medicating or sublimating them into seemingly positive habits.
