Social censure demands consensus while being blind to its own tyranny, pretending the death of curiosity, learning, and creativity. No human endeavor requires freedom as much as creativity does, as it emerges from a formless roving of the mind. Literature holds the magic of making readers feel less alone and shows us who we are, taking us into history and teaching us about unsearchable things.
