Effective communication: Shifting from pitching to storytelling

Encourage people to share bits of their story, rather than their pitch, to create a better environment for communication. Avoid asking about 'family' as it can be judgmental and not everyone has positive associations with it. Instead, ask about one great thing from their upbringing to change the trajectory of the conversation and make it more inclusive.
