The Undefinability and Confined Nature of Creativity and Knowledge
Creativity, knowledge, and explanation are fundamentally impossible to define as any formal definition would confine them to a system, preventing them from producing anything outside that system. For instance, a comprehensive understanding of arithmetic cannot produce Gödel's theorem as the theorem involves going beyond that system. While mathematicians understand and accept such proofs, the specific nature of this ability remains unknown. Attempts to define it as the ability to go outside a framework proved challenging even for advanced AI, as observed with an attempt to prompt GPT to disobey, which it failed to comprehend.
