The central bank digital currency (CBDC) is not about whether it's physical or digital, but about control. With traditional currencies, such as the dollar, people need permission from banks or governments to send money to certain countries like Venezuela. In contrast, with Bitcoin, individuals can send value easily and without permission. This is demonstrated in a course where students make Bitcoin transactions, realizing how easy and permissionless it is. They don't need to verify their identity or go through intermediaries. This highlights the power of being able to transact freely without someone else having authority over their money. It opens up a whole new world of possibilities.
