Is the Israeli State a Colonial Settler Entity?
During a podcast with a Palestinian academic, I received feedback from Jewish individuals who disagreed with the notion that the Israeli state is a colonial settler entity. While some historians dispute this, I share the view that although there were colonial aspects within Zionism, it is an incorrect comparison. Unlike colonial states, such as Britain's empire settlements, which aimed for political and economic gain, the establishment of Israel was not an extension of a mother country but rather a carving out of their own state in a third world country.
