561: How the Evangelical Movement Failed a Generation with Jon Ward

The Holy Post

NOTE

The Importance of Public Character in Evangelical Culture

There may not be mass repentance among evangelicals regarding Trump, as it goes against human nature. Repentance is usually a sign of religious revival. If evangelicals move on from Trump, it will be because someone else offers a better alternative. Many people currently prefer that Trump not be the Republican nominee again, but if he does become the nominee, political identity will once again overshadow religious identity. This reflects a lack of training in evangelical culture on exercising public character. The author discusses their personal experience navigating family relationships amidst political differences over Trump and other issues.
