Balancing Athlete Confidence and Effective Learning
Maintaining athlete confidence while empowering them in the learning process is crucial. Coaches should balance allowing athletes to feel in control of their learning by letting them request feedback and determine extra skill repetitions, while also knowing when to intervene and guide additional practice. However, the applicability of existing scientific literature on this balancing act in high-performance settings is questionable, given the intense dedication of highly engaged athletes.
