Is There a Difference Between Humanity and Outsourcing?
Throughout history, societies have outsourced tasks within their communities to optimize human potential. The notion that past individuals were fundamentally different ignores the innate human desire for pleasure, beauty, and leisure, which have existed long before modern consumer culture. This desire is often manipulated to fuel consumerism. In contemporary settings, a disconnect arises between individuals and their roles in a service economy, leading to feelings of alienation and questioning the value of one's work. With the shift from manufacturing to service-oriented jobs, the connection to tangible contributions diminishes, resulting in lower-paid, often precarious employment that lacks meaningful engagement or fulfillment. This transformation has created economic environments where jobs are more susceptible to market whims, leaving many workers without stability or strong representation, further compounding the issues of disconnection and reduced job satisfaction.
