Why Theory
The Anxiety of Success and Failure
The drive to succeed can be anxiety-inducing because it involves a fear of achieving perfection and showcasing competence. In contrast, facing everyday failures is perceived as easier because they are less intimidating and require less vulnerability. Success is like playing Dance Dance Revolution blindfolded - there's a possibility of achieving it, but it comes with the anxiety of actually getting it right and being exposed. Failure, on the other hand, feels safer and more manageable in comparison to the pressure of achieving success.
