Understanding a person's level of intelligence and knowledge allows one to use their own ideas against them. Smart individuals tend to fill in the blanks with lots of information, making it easier to manipulate their thoughts and perspectives. On the contrary, less educated individuals who think simply are harder to deceive as they take things at face value without overanalyzing or filling in gaps. By leveraging knowledge of an individual's understanding and memory, one can craft a narrative that enriches their experiences and perceptions, enabling a magician, for example, to manipulate the observer's perception of a trick by tapping into their memory and understanding of the concept being presented.

In this episode, my guest is Asi Wind. He's one of the world’s top magicians and mentalists.
