Importance of Christian Unity

Christian unity is a combination of both a unity of heart and a unity of mind. It involves not tearing each other down, but instead building each other up and carrying about each other. Emphasizing one over the other or neglecting both can have negative consequences. In Galatians five, Saint Paul warns against works of the flesh such as enmity, strife, and dissension which hinder Christian unity. Working against Christian unity can lead to jeopardizing one's own salvation, highlighting the significance of caring for Christian unity.
