Change management involves a four-step process: plan, design, implement, and sustain/evolve. The sustained part is critical in change management, as it emphasizes the ongoing improvement of the change rather than just maintaining it. Sustainment should also be viewed as an opportunity to continually improve and evolve the change over time, making it better than the original implementation.
