When science and therapy are administered under the same banner, there is a conflict of interest. While scientists should inform policy based on their findings, combining science and therapy, such as in psychology, leads to a flawed understanding of connecting human psychology with neurobiology. Understanding the brain's gross anatomy and neuron functioning doesn't mean we can effectively treat patients solely based on neurobiology and neurochemistry.
