The Influence of College Characteristics on Earnings for Men and Women

Attending a selective institution and higher per capita spending on instruction positively affected men's earnings while attending a selective liberal arts college in the Northeast and the mid Atlantic region had a significant positive effect on women's earnings. The data set used was fairly selective and old, but it showed that school quality and selectivity can impact various aspects of career and family, not just earnings.
