Having more children may seem like a positive, but it also comes with negatives such as higher energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. While population decline may lead some to argue for banning abortion, it is not purely a utilitarian calculation. Instead of prohibiting abortion, there are better ways to encourage population growth, such as offering baby bonuses.
