Cognitive Overload and the Impact of Open Loops on Focus

Cognitive overload refers to the limited amount of information we can hold in our working memory. Open loops are commitments that haven't been fulfilled, causing our brain to constantly focus on them. This increases our cognitive load and makes it harder to focus. While we can't always close all our open loops, we have control over creating new ones. When we choose to do fewer things, it paradoxically helps us do more of what we want.
