Personalized Learning and Inequality through AI in Education
Teachers using AI in education can observe students' learning patterns, engagement levels, and challenges to provide personalized support. Digital tutors in classrooms offer individualized assistance and customized homework based on students' learning experiences. However, global implementation of AI in education is uneven, with only half of the surveyed OECD countries having a basic requirement for AI systems. Despite the potential for AI to address educational inequality through personalized learning, there is also a risk of amplifying inequality through unequal access to AI technology and resources.
