Holiness in Balance: Freedom and Tradition

Focusing on helping Catholics grow in holiness is a worthwhile ministry, provided it promotes true spiritual development rather than devolving into fundamentalism. While traditionalism can provide valuable guidance for holiness in a sinful environment, fundamentalism becomes problematic when it restricts individual freedom within the faith. The error of progressive Catholicism lies in normalizing the forbidden, while fundamentalism enforces obligations on what should be permissible, leading to dogmatism that hinders spiritual growth.
