DRAGON: The Archetypal Monster and Ally Within

This Jungian Life Podcast

NOTE

The Dragon as Guardian and Captor of Potential

The dragon symbolizes the keeper of our inner capacities and potential, akin to the Uroboros, which represents the self-fertilizing nature of the unconscious. This internal realm holds treasures of creativity, intuition, and self-expression, waiting for us to reclaim them. The dragon does not destroy these treasures but guards them until we are prepared to confront them. Trauma and overwhelming circumstances can split off precious aspects of ourselves, represented by dragons that must be approached with courage to recover what has been lost. These dragons, serving as guardians, require us to acknowledge and retire them when they become outdated. To reclaim our innate potential, we must grow to face the fear that prevents access to our true selves. Ultimately, while the dragons may protect what is valuable, they can also imprison our vulnerable qualities. Confronting these dragons is essential to prevent them from wreaking havoc in our lives and to regain our vital energy, ensuring our transformation and wholeness.
