After the war, organizers of various events adopted the techniques displayed by the Nazis, such as using swastikas as a visual signifier, and the practice of ritualized ecstasy, which was propagated across Germany. Additionally, Hitler announced the swastika as the sole German flag at the 1935 Nuremberg rally, demanding it be saluted with the raised arm, a practice inherited from Mussolini. This widespread salute was seen as a potent form of totalitarian conditioning, where non-compliance could lead to physical consequences.
